quick user guide.

It's all pretty straightforward once your Freewire TV is up and running, but if you a have a hard day and forget how everything works, here's a guide to the main features:

views and screen sizes.

Alternative screen sizes
In the View menu on the window top bar there are 4 different sizes – so you can make it really small and carry on with other things, or fill your entire screen and sit back.

changing channels.

If you're watching in the TV , you can quickly change channels using your up and down keyboard buttons, or move your mouse to the top of the screen to reveal your mini control panel (this is where the volume's at too). For a list of all the channels whilst staying in full TV mode, select Channel List from the Menu bar.

controls & menu.

control panel
Always available at the top of your screen is the control panel for Volume and quick Channel change and alongside it is the Info bar – which shows you which programme is currently on.
Just move your mouse up to the top part of your screen to bring up the Control panel, and change to the volume or channel you require. You can also click Menu. Select from the main features at the top level, like TV and Radio, then the relevant feature on the bar below, like Channel List and away you go.

mini guide.

You can see 4 channels at-a-time over a 2 hour period. Forward through the days schedule with a simple right arrow click. Get more information on a programme by pressing the i button. Tune to a channel, set reminders or close it using the X key. All, whilst continuing to watch full screen TV.

full guide.

The Freewire full screen guide
If you want to get the low down on the week's programmes on all channels, use the full guide on your screen. It will still keep you tuned to your channel and show it in a small window at the top, so it can give the remainder of the screen over to showing you 10 channels at-a-time and 2 hour view of all the programmes. Change days using the tabs at the bottom and like the Mini guide you can get more information on a programme by pressing the i button. Tune to a channel, set reminders or close it using the X key.

progress bar.

The progress bar
You might notice a thin blue line alongside some areas. If you haven't guessed it, it shows how far through the programme (if it's currently playing) you are. It's on the Info bar, the Mini guide and the Full guide.

reminders.

From the Mini or Full guide simply forward to any programme on a subscribed channel and select remind. It'll ask you whether it's just the once, or every time this shows on. Then that's it. 2 minutes before it's due to start, you'll get a pop-up on the Freewire screen. Nifty eh!

settings.

You can personalise how you want your Freewire to work, for instance: change when the reminders pop up, how transparent you want everything over the TV, or ask reminders to automatically tune to the channel.
